Florida GOP Primary, by the Numbers: 87 Delegates so far for Romney (ContributorNetwork)

The Florida primary is officially over, with Mitt Romney taking the state and its delegates. In a campaign that has so far been anything but predictable, the numbers have been more fascinating than in any other presidential campaign in recent history. Here is a look at the Florida primary and how the numbers break down.

771,842: The number of voters who turned out for the Florida primary in support of Mitt Romney .

655,066: Votes that fourth-place finisher Ron Paul trailed Mitt Romney. Paul only managed to capture 7 percent of the vote.

14: The percentage by which Newt Gingrich trailed Mitt Romney in the primary . Gingrich had previously beaten Romney by 12 points in South Carolina.

13,000: The approximate number of ad spots that Mitt Romney aired throughout Florida ahead of the primary. That is 5,000 more than he aired in South Carolina for the Republican primary in that state.

560: Votes that Jon Huntsman trailed Rick Perry in Florida, despite both candidates having dropped out of the race already. Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain also posted nearly identical numbers to each other, with Bachmann capturing 3,947 votes and Cain grabbing 3,481.

2.2: Millions of dollars that Winning Our Future, the pro-Newt Gingrich super PAC spent on ads in Florida.

92: Percentage of campaign ads aired in Florida that were negative, which is an unprecedented number in a presidential campaign.

1,144: How many delegates are needed for any one candidate to grab the GOP nomination for president.

87: The number of delegates that Mitt Romney has racked up so far in the campaign . Newt Gingrich has only managed to capture 26, and Rick Santorum is hanging in with 14. Ron Paul trails the rest with only 4 delegates so far.

52: Percentage of the female vote captured by Mitt Romney in Florida. Newt Gingrich only managed to elicit 28 percent of the female vote. This could be the result of personal attack ads run by the Romney Campaign against former House Speaker Gingrich.

54: Percentage of the Hispanic vote carried by Mitt Romney despite his hard-line stance on illegal immigration.
